Sachse Shines . . .
more than just a phrase
A Word from the Chairman
Wow! Spring is already here, and colors are popping out all over town. Those Bradford pear trees that are a harbinger of warm weather popped their popcorn quickly in the last warm days of March and are now nestled into their summer green. Events are warming up around the Chamber as well, and soon they will start popping, just like those trees. It seems that “event season” begins with the springing green. We had The Sachse Sampler & Expo last week, followed quickly by the June Golf Shoot Out, the July Cars Under the Stars, the September Casino Night, and Sachse Fallfest rounds out the season in October.
In other words, we spend six months out of the year providing you, our members, with a variety of opportunities to showcase your business, network with other members (and potential customers), and generally be involved with the community. We know that some business leaders prefer one type of activity over another, so the activities are as varied as we can make them, but they are all there to enhance your Chamber membership.
I have written several times about the benefits of involvement. And yes, getting involved is important to you, as well as to the organization, and the rest of its membership. Our Staff is ready and willing and quite skilled at helping you “plug in” to the power of the Chamber. But, as we approach the Sachse Sampler & Expo, I would like to direct your attention to the Chamber Ambassadors. Talk about getting involved! I attended an Ambassador meeting last month, and the room was full to overflowing, and the enthusiasm was off the charts. The Ambassadors created The Sachse Sampler & Expo a few years ago as a way of introducing the city to businesses that need an indoor display (as opposed to the outdoor venue of Fallfest). Sachse Sampler has grown tremendously in the last four years and still is staged entirely by the efforts of the Ambassadors.
Led by Jeannie Marten, the Sachse Chamber Ambassadors are what we like to call the “hug ‘em and hold ’em” arm of the Chamber. Don’t be surprised if an Ambassador is on the other end of your phone many times in 2008, just to stay in touch.
Many thanks to Jeannie and the Ambassadors for the enthusiastic way they are working for your Chamber.
I hope you will participate in The Sachse Sampler & Expo in some capacity, but if your involvement leads you to one of the other events, you still need to check out The Sampler & Expo. Ten area restaurants will be serving free samples, and if that isn't enough to get you in the door, there is entertainment and door prizes, and there are great businesses waiting to introduce you to their products and services.
But all that aside, it was the place to be April 17 for the community of Sachse and its Chamber of Commerce.
Rev. Hal Hinckley, 2008 Chairman of the Board

Indoor Solutions, Your Solution to Indoor Pollution
In June 2007, Beverly and Calvin Womack opened Indoor Solutions because it gave them an opportunity to help people and add value to their lives.
Prior to starting this business, both Beverly and Calvin worked corporate jobs at a manufacturing facility in Dallas. They started Indoor Solutions as an income stream supplement, and now, they are happy to tell you, they can work their business full time.
Beverly says, “We have been most inspired by the testimonies of our customers. It’s great to know that you have been part of helping someone solve their problems, whether it be an indoor air pollution issue, they want to filter their water and stop filling up the environment with little plastic bottles, or if they want to amaze their friends and family by being able to do their laundry with no detergent, fabric softener or hot water. We do most of our business by referrals, and the only way that will work is when you have built a relationship of trust with a customer so that they know anyone they refer to you will get the same treatment they did.”
Why would you choose products from Indoor Solutions? Beverly and Calvin offer customers with indoor air quality issues a chance to try Indoor Solutions’ products in their own home before they purchase. Beverly and Calvin are very proud that as far as they know, there is no other local retail market offering the amazing, very green revolutionary laundry product.
Although Calvin and Beverly are the only employees of the retail business, they also operate several other franchises in other parts of the country and are constantly on the lookout for ways to expand their company.
This happens often when they meet other people who are looking to supplement an existing income while working very part time/spare time hours.
Beverly boasts, “Our Sachse Chamber membership has led us to many referrals by way of the networking opportunities it affords and the exposure it has given our business.
We promote this chamber and its functions every day to someone, as we really believe in people helping people and keeping local business alive through our support.”
The Womacks are proud Sachse residents, living in the Woodbridge area.
