Majestic Ballroom free hip-hop dance classesJuly 31 has been designated as National Dance Day. The event is being promoted by the TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance.” “National Dance Day will ... include a variety of dance-themed activities for people of all ages. It will empower, challenge and inspire everyone to try various styles of dance ranging from hip-hop to ballroom to anything that moves. Above all, it will encourage everyone to dance as a means to stay fit and be healthy,” according to the show’s website. Wylie’s Majestic Ballroom is planning a group dance from 10 a.m. to noon on the parking lot of Home Depot. Participants are asked to bring a donation of school supplies. To get ready for Dance Day, there will be free hip-hop classes at Majestic Ballroom at 7:30 p.m. Sunday nights and 7:45 p.m. Thursday nights throughout July. The dance that will be taught has been choreographed by “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha.
