Remembering sacrifice, Public Safety memorial service

Texas police officers and firefighters who have died in the line of duty during the past year will be honored at a memorial service and ceremony at 7 p.m. July 15 at the field in front of the new Sachse Public Safety building.
The event is sponsored by the city of Sachse and The Sachse News. The community is invited.
The committee chairmen are Police Chief Dennis Veach, Fire Chief Doug Kendrick and Director of Library Services Dolores Greenwald.
Veach said the ceremony will bring together all segments of the public safety community.
The police are asking attendees to bring lawn chairs.
Local public safety agencies throughout the area in Dallas and Collin counties will be taking part in the third annual public safety memorial service.
“This memorial tribute is a countywide way of giving recognition to those who have passed and honoring those who have selflessly served the public,” Police Chief Dennis Veach said. “All are invited to join in the commemoration and honoring of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”
Local public safety agencies  have been asked to have representatives present. The names of the fallen members will be read.
Ceremonial music will be offered by the Pipes and Drums of Garland.
