SHS senior receives award in all contests, squads win bid to Nationals

Sachse Cheer makes clean sweep

Last week, the Sachse High School cheerleaders attended ACA camp in Denton.


All three squads walked away with top honors. 


The Freshman squad won Star Chant, the Fun Jam award, the ACA challenge, a bid to Nationals, and Camp Champion Award. 


The JV squad won the Fun Jam award, the ACA challenge, a bid to Nationals, and Camp Champion Award. 


The Varsity squad won the ACA challenge, a bid to Nationals, and Camp Champion Award.

Award-winning cheerleaders

SHS senior Keely Cherry received every award ACA gives at last week’s ACA cheer camp.  Keely was named All-Star Tumbler, All-Star Jumper, All-Star Cheerleader, All-Star stunt group, and was invited to be a part of ACA staff next year. 

Additionally, several girls from each squad also won individual awards. 

Star Jumper finalists were: Sydney Herring, Chandler Cherry, Alyssa Herrera, Karlie Covington, Rachel Rogers, Madison Fasang, Brittany Smith, Rachel Massey, Keri Wait, Keely Cherry, Dani Blohm, and Jessica Briscoe.  Both Alyssa and Keely won the award in their divisions. 

Star Tumbler finalists were:  Jami Durham, Sydney Herring, Rachel Rhodes, Chandler Cherry, Karlie Covington, Bre Payne, Kenzie Rector, Alyssa Herrera, Lindsay Parker, Dani Blohm, Brittany Miller, Keely Cherry, Jordan Wilson, and Jessica Briscoe.  Keely won her division. 

Star Cheerleaders were: Sydney Herring, Rachel Rhodes, Hanna Taylor, Karlie Covington, Kenzie Rector, Alyssa Herrera, Bre Payne, Brittany Smith, Madison Fasang, Shaye Miller, Jessica Briscoe, Keri Wait, Dani Blohm, and Keely Cherry.
